Arko-Pijevac, biology with ecology
Born in Rijeka on 07 April 1960. Graduated in 1984 with the highest degree in biology with ecology . Since 1986 she has been working in the Natural History Museum Rijeka. She has been curating Mollusc collection in the Museum since 1997. She deals with benthic biocoenoses and has a special interest in the evaluation of the condition of differently circumstanced biocoenoses. She holds 3*** to CMAS. Eight of her qualified studies were published from 1986 to 1994 in the reports on the influence on the environment of DINA petrochemical industry in Omisalj. She participantes in the conducting of studies on environmental effects in Primorsko-Goranska County. Coauthor

photographs "The Secret World of Undersea" and of the part of
the permanent display "Sea Invertebrate". She has been managing

Graduated with honors from the Biology Department, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb on March 7, 2003. As of recently enrolled in the master's degree program (biology and ecology) at her alma mater. She is a curator/educator of the Museum since 2003. She runs a number of educational projects – workshops for preschool and school children, gives lectures for Museum visitors, cooperates with high schools as regards organization of field work, and works on the promotion of natural science in the region. She is interested in plant ecology and phitocenology of the submediterranean. She is in charge of the Museum Herbarium and a coauthor of the Botanical Gardens permanent display (opening is planned for May 2004). She has participated in two scientific congresses with international participation with one report, and is a coauthor of one scientific paper. She is a diver with one * according to CMAS. in 1950 in Zagreb, Croatia. Graduated from Department of Geology, Faculty
of Science, University of Zagreb. Senior curator, manages the inorganic
world collections, conducts museological treatment and presentation of
eight geological collections of the Museum. She is the selector of the
new permanent exibition entitled Geological History of the Adriatic, as
well as of 25 other paleontological and mineraological exhibitions. She
is the selector and manager of the Geological Stratigraphic Collection
of the Island of Krk, Museum's regional collection put up for display
in Dobrinj on the island of Krk. She conducts paleontological research
of the Paleogene in the Rijeka region which has resulted in a large collection
of fossil macrofauna in which some of the species were identified on Croatian
territory for the first time. She is the project manager and editor of
the Catalogue of fossils of Istria, Croatian coast, and islands of Cres,
Krk and Rab, registered with the Croatian Ministry of Culture and with
the Primorsko-goranska County.
Marin Kirincic, curator Born on 03 January 1973 in Rijeka. Gratuated in 1997 with a degree in sea biology at the Faculty of Science in Zagreb ("Bottom Organisams on Submarine Bulky Waste in Rijeka Bay - Kostrena"). Speaks english and italian. Open sea diver to SSI. In July 1997 accepted to work as a curator in the Natural History Museum Rijeka. Curates the collection of sea invertebrates. Active on drawing up a computer inventory in Access, his speciality is collection of crustaceans Decapoda. Author of the permanent exhibition "Aquarium"-multimedia center.

working as the curator ichthyologist at the Natural History Museum Rijeka.

Lado Bartoniček, preparator
Born on December 6, 1977 in Rijeka . Agricultural technician. Employed as a Museum preparator since March 2003.
Performs the following tasks: Collects fauna, conserves and stuffs animals Is engaged in the production of museum dioramas, ecological groups, presentations of isotopes, board presentations, photographs and drawings Performs technical and professional work related to permanent display and exhibitions < Supervises the maintenance of zoological collections and storerooms open for study Undertakes measures for maintenance of museum preparations Undertakes measures of disinfection and disinsectization of museum artifacts Keeps records of museum artifacts coming in the museum or leaving it Runs a museum preparation workshop He is interested in aquarium studies and plant ecology. He is a coauthor of Botanical Gardens permanent display. As a research assistant he was involved in the realization of a multimedia permanent display Aquarium , for which he is currently responsible. He designs promotional film clips for the Museum, and is the author of music for different projects. He actively collaborates with the curators and performs field work. |
